Just a few minutes walking distance from a (swimming) lake lie two luxurious apartments which are part of a stately, fully-restored mansion on the outskirts of the village of Saint Saud Lacoussiere in the northern part of the Dordogne. The lake has a sandy beach and on the other side of the lake there is a place where you can fish for trout. During the high season (July and August) there is a lifeguard present and a brasserie which is open. The mansion is situated between meadows and forests and is surrounded by a beautifully landscaped garden with paths and lighting. There are beautiful lawns where you can sunbathe or play, plus there is a garden complete with classical music, waterfall, fountain, swimming pool (7m x 14m) and child pool (5m x 5m). You can also enjoy Jeu de Boules, table tennis, badminton, darts and volleyball. There is also a large mikado game and a swing. There is a covered area (16m x 16m) which contains a bar, TV room for children, a variety of garden furniture and two large barbecues. Beginning in 2009 there will be a WiFi connection here as well. The separate laundry room has a washing machine and dryer. An iron and ironing board are available. Pets are not allowed and smoking is not permitted anywhere in the house. The price includes linen and there are no extra costs for final cleaning. In Saint Saud you will find all necessary amenities such as a post office, pharmacy, bakery, butcher, small grocery store, 3 hotel restaurants, cafés, hairdressers, petrol station and garage plus there is a common tennis court which you can rent. Daily shopping can be done at the supermarkets in the area. These luxurious apartments are ideal for families.

The holiday house called "Cezanne" consists of three floors and is located in the right wing of a historic mansion. The house can accommodate up to 10 persons plus a baby and has an area of 150 m2. The ground floor is accessible for disabled persons. The format is as follows: On the ground floor there is the entrance hallway, a living room and a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer with three drawers, gas stove, kettle and coffeemaker. Also on the ground floor you will find a custom bathroom and one bedroom. This part of the ground floor is accessible for wheelchairs. In the living room there is a TV. On the first floor you will find two double bedrooms and a bathroom with a separate toilet. On the second floor there is one double bedroom and two single bedrooms. There is also a bathroom with separate toilet on this floor. All beds are 90 x 200cm and one of them is a raised bed.
The "Renoir" holiday house consists of three floors and is located in the left wing of the mansion. This apartment can accommodate up to 10 persons plus 2 babies and has an area of 150 m2. The format is as follows: the ground floor has a corridor and an entrance, a bathroom, living room with a fireplace and a fully-equipped kitchen including a dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer with three drawers, a gas cooker, kettle and coffeemaker. In the living room there is a TV. The first floor has three double bedrooms (including two with a crib) and a bathroom with a separate toilet. The second floor has two single person bedrooms and one double bedroom. There is also a bathroom and a separate toilet on this floor. All beds are 90 x 200cm and one of them is a raised bed. The price includes linen and there are no additional costs for cleaning. The house has central heating. Pets are not allowed and you are not permitted to smoke anywhere in the house. The layout is perfect for a holiday with family.

From the house you can take fun excursions by car or bike including to Brantôme, the caves of Villars, Chateau de Puyguilheim and the picturesque town of St Jean de Cole. You can also visit several weekly markets in the pretty villages throughout the area. In this region you will find well-marked hiking trails and almost every weekend in the immediate vicinity you can find a French village festival. Saint Saud is known for its “fête de cepes” (Festival of Chestnuts and Cepes [King Boletus mushrooms]) on the first Sunday of October. Slightly farther away (60 km) there is the capital of the Dordogne, "Periqueux". You must see this city! The old city center has lively shopping streets, squares, beautiful authentic buildings with slate roofs, cafes, restaurants (in all price ranges) and exclusive fashion. For the purchase of porcelain you should go to Limoges, about an hour’s drive from Saint Saud. Bordeaux is also definitely worth a visit. 15 km away lies the town of Nontron, where you can do your shopping in the old village. At the same distance you can find castles and vineyards.
